Isn't It A Shame?

That the Greens and LibDems don't get more publicity in the media. The policies, when properly explained, to me offer the most to ordinary people, whereas the other parties seem to want less freedom for joe public and more for the super-rich. From my experience, modern social democracy/liberalism is GENUINELY popular, and just seems light years ahead of the conservative, materialist outlook offered by the Tories, Labour and rightwing fringe outfits.
Very different from the 1970s "traditional" socialist model, the idea of less government involvement in society and the economy but more "socially concious" where it is involved.

The idea that the state should actually help citizens achieve their dreams rather than stopping them is a winner. It's a shame that such an outlook is dubbed "nanny state" by large sections of the media whereas persecuting and restricting people is seen as "tough".

I'd like to ask readers of this forum if they are on the PEOPLES side, or that of some fat cat cokehead newspaper tycoon who's gonna back anyone who'll let their seedy outfits off a few more quid in tax? Do you support a united front amongst ordinary people regardless of background to put people before profit, or support the multinationals efforts to divide the population along demographic lines in order to drive down wages and drive up profit?

If you prefer PEOPLE to MONEY, then the LibDems or Greens offer the best deal. The UK could have DOUBLE the standard of living on HALF the GDP by better use of resources, including 100% employment for those able to work- especially making use of the disabled and elderly who could still offer the country a great deal. Better infrastructure could reduce the illusion of overcrowding, extended families could make for better utilisation of accommodation etc, cut childcare and senior citizen care costs too.

Do you want a country of genuine variety or one which just caters for the largest minority- a nation of true individuals as opposed to clones where everything from town centres to tv stations are just photocopies of each other? A country where imagination, intellect and compassion rule rather than naked aggression?

I know which I'd prefer....
